Curtains that carry the stories of a Home
Years ago, I remember it to this day, an elderly gentleman walked into our showroom carrying a large bundle of curtains. The fabric looked aged, and the lining had torn in several places. Gently placing them on the table, he asked if we could replace the lining for him.
A few weeks later, he returned to collect them.
As he unfolded the refreshed curtains, he told me that the fabric had come from the UK and the curtains had been made more than thirty years ago. Over those decades, they had quietly hung by the window, witnessing the rhythm of everyday life — mornings filled with sunlight, evenings of quiet rest, and countless ordinary moments that slowly become precious memories.
“These curtains have been with me for a long time,” he said with a smile.
Replacing the lining gave them a renewed life, while the fabric — and the memories within it — remained.
Not long after, another lady called with a similar request. She asked if we could replace the lining of her daughter’s curtains. Those curtains had been there since her daughter was little, watching her grow year by year.
To her, they carried the memories of her daughter’s childhood.
Moments like these remind us that curtains are not just part of interior decoration. Over time, they quietly become part of a home’s story — standing by the window as life unfolds, especially in the current era, where fast-moving consumer goods prevail.
At Ms Curtain, we believe beautiful curtains are not only about design and craftsmanship. Sometimes, they are about preserving the stories that make a house feel like home. ✨
